Avatar 2 has cross the $400 million mark!

Avatar 2 by James Cameron had a fantastic opening weekend at the global box office. After Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness and Spider-Man: No Way Home, it had the third highest global opening in the post-pandemic era. Let’s see how much money it has made!

Given the phenomenal success of Avatar: The Way Of Water Part 1, there are huge hopes for Avatar: The Way Of Water Part 2. However, the picture opened slightly lower than predicted in North America. Nonetheless, it is regarded as quite good, as few films have been able to incite wrath in the post-pandemic era. The good news is that word-of-mouth is overwhelmingly positive.

Avatar 2 was predicted to gross more than $150 million in North America. According to Variety, the film has now earned $134 million in the domestic market. Surprisingly, it is James Cameron’s first film to gross $100 million in its first weekend. A strong sum of $301 million has come from international circuits, bringing the global total to $435 million. That’s about half a billion bucks in the first weekend.

With $435 million, Avatar 2 has become the third highest-grossing opening weekend in the post-pandemic era, after only Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness ($442 million) and Spider-Man: No Way Home ($600 million).

For the uninitiated, Avatar grossed approximately $241 million at the worldwide box office during its opening weekend in 2009. From then, it broke records in a single lifetime run. Let’s see if Avatar 2 takes the same path after a promising start.
