Hyderabad: Playback singer Rahul Sipligunj is overjoyed when Naatu Naatu, the massively famous RRR song he co-wrote with Kaala Bhairava, won the Golden Globe for best original song. The 33-year-old artist said he’s starting the festivities by serving the famed Hyderabadi biryani to everyone who comes to his residence. “Naatu Naatu has won two Golden Globes. With their exuberant dancing routines, the film’s stars Junior NTR and Ram Charan helped make Naatu Naatu a phenomenon in the SS Rajamouli-directed historical drama.
“I am grateful to Prem Rakshit (choreographer), Junior NTR Sir, and Ram Charan Sir. The film grew in popularity, and it became a major phenomenon and a huge smash.
“Another plus is the song’s ‘hook up’ routine, which has gone viral in India and throughout the world. People who come to my residence will be served Hyderabadi biryani. That’s how I’d like to begin my celebration.” Sipligunj started as an independent singer until he was spotted by MM Keeravaani, who offered him chance to be a part of his team and flourish as a vocalist in films such as Dammu, Shirdi Sai Baba,Eega and Maryada Ramanna. Despite his youth, Sipligunj has appeared in over 50 films as a singer.
His other notable hits are Bombhaat, Pedda Puli, Chal Mohan Ranga and Ranga Ranga Rangasthalana, among many more.
Following the Globes, all eyes will be on the Oscars, where Naatu Naatu is one of 15 nominees in the best song category.
